Selecting and opening files and folders
File and Path Operations
Most file operations involve standard Windows procedures, but some differ a little.
Selecting
- Select: single click
- Window select: draw selection rectangle with Middle-Mouse-Button (no need to hunt for empty space between files, drag from anywhere)
- Select several files: Ctrl+Click if files are not contiguous in the list, Shift+Click if they are
Selecting with keyboard only: If you hold Ctrl key, you can use up/down arrows to focus another file and press spacebar (while still holding Ctrl, it will toggle selection on that file). Holding Shift+Ctrl will keep adding files as you click the down key
- Note: File selection check boxes are currently not planned
Opening folders and files
- Open: double click or Enter key
- Open several files: select all then press Enter (it may take a looong time)
- Open with dialog: Ctrl+Enter
- Open .exe or .bat as Admin: Ctrl+Enter
- Open .exe with custom launch arguments: Ctrl+Shift+Enter
Single-click to open
You can set OneCommander to single-click open either files and folders, or just files, but this may be removed in the future; see Settings > Other.
